JUSTA LOTTA FUNKO: Tanya Tate Reviews The Hot Topic Exclusive Hipster Belle POP Vinyl Figure From The Disney Series
If you have been following me on twitter you would know that I have been extremely busy the last few weeks. So I have not been able to shoot any new Funko POP! video reviews. With so much cool stuff coming out, I thought I would do a written review. Not as fun, but still you get to see some great pictures of the new stuff that is out now.
Today we’ll take a look at the Hot Topic exclusive Hipster Belle from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. I reviewed Belle and the Beast figures a long time ago when I first started to make POP! video reviews, so it’s a bit of fun to revisit her in this new variant.
What is all the “Hipster” business? Well, its started as an Ariel The Little Mermaid meme. Hipsters fancy themselves as the cooler-than-you lot. When you google “what is a hipster” you get “a person who follows the latest trends and fashions,” but I think it’s a little more than that. Anything somewhat cool is old to them and they look to be obscure as though it gives them some sort of “street cred”.
An annoying lot, in short, LOL. So, someone created a “Hipster Ariel” based on a screen grab of the mermaid wearing “nerd” type glasses that hipsters are prone to wear to take the piss. It because very well known in pop culture leading to the other Disney Princesses getting the hipster treatment and we now have Belle, hipsterized in Funko POP form!
Bloody hell, enough with the backstory and let’s get to the review!
I wanted to share a new magazine that I have found called Cool and Collected. For collectors like me it is a fun read. The magazine is 60 pages in full colour and is packed with articles. This first issue covers pop culture books, Super Powers figures, Lord of the Rings, Superman, Spock and so much more. The articles are lively and that is a main selling point for me. I love reading about what people collect and this really does com across as a labour of love.
I like the idea of a magazine like this. Sure, I can find images online quickly, but there is something great about having a tangible magazine that I can flip thru and hold in my hand.
If you want to order your copy of Cool and Collected you can have a look at the website here: http://coolandcollected.com.
LMK if you are going to order a copy of if you already have it, what you think by leaving a comment below. You can also contact me via Twitter - @TanyaTate.

Do you collect Doctor Who? You know I moan about how little space I have for my collectibles, but then fall in love with a new line, LOL! These Doctor Who vinyl figures from Titan Merchandise are awesome! They are little blind box figures, which means they come randomly. When you buy a box you don’t know what you are getting. This set features characters from the 10th Doctor series. Let’s take a look at the video shall we?
JUSTA LOTTA VIDEO: Tanya Tate Takes A Close Look At The Doctor Who SDCC Exclusive Titans Vinyl Figure
Well, I have added item to my Doctor Who obsession! Have you seen these little vinyl figures from Titan Merchandise, called Titans? They are so adorable! Only a few inches tall, but very cool. These stylized versions of the show’s characters are just too cute. When I was at San Diego Comic Con I ran into my friends at Titan Merchandise and they gave me a the show’s SDCC exclusive! It’s of the Tenth Doctor, David Tennant, dressed in a Tuxedo and his trainers.
Wow. I love it. Want to take a closer look? Then watch my video!
I have a treat for you tomorrow. I was given one of the Titans Doctor Who vinyl figures from my friends at Titan Merchandise. It so happens to be the San Diego Comic Con exclusive Tuxedo version of the Tenth Doctor. If you have not seen these figures yet, they are stylized versions of the Doctor and all his little mates. So please come back to tomorrow for the review!
If you can’t wait for Tanya Tate Doctor Who review, here is my look at the Fourth Doctor bust from Titan Merchandise. Like me, a Liverpool native, Tom Baker!
How cool is this? Artist Jerry Sinner knew that I collected Disney Vinylmation figures and took it upon himself to create a special Minnie Mouse one just for me. It’s Minnie in her slippers and robe as she’s waking up for the day. Kinds of how I look sometimes, LOL. I actually have this image on my mug, which you can see in this special video I made to show you. Have a look!
Here it is the last in my series of Masters of the Universe Funko POP! vinyl figures reviews! As you may know I have been unboxing and reviewing all the figures in this series. I have looked at She-Ra, Skeletor, Spikor, Hordak; my favourite Disco Skeletor and even a She-Ra prototype. Now, we look at the most iconic of them all.... He-Man!
In celebration of the 30th Anniversary of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe line, Funko has produced a series of POP! vinyl figures from the line. As a popular action figure series and incredible Filmation TV show, He-Man has become a pop icon. In this video I take a close look at the recently released figure. So let’s have a look shall we?
Tomorrow is the last video review in my series of Masters of the Universe vinyl figure reviews. And I have saved the most Iconic for last; He-man! How cool is that? I’ll be taking a close look at the He-man collectible POP! vinyl figure from Funko. So I hope that you will join me for this fun video. Are you collecting this series? Or are you one of those people who only got Disco Skeletor? LOL, LMK by leaving a comment below or if you have an idea of what Funko POP vinyl series you want me to look at next...put that in there as well!
See you tomorrow!
For the honor of Grayskull,
Here we go! I have been reviewing the Masters of the Universe series of POP! vinyl figures from Funko. You have seen me (at least I hope you have!) review She-Ra, Skeletor, Disco Skeletor (which was a San Diego Comic Con exclusive) Hordak and now, I am going to be taking a look at one of Skeletor’s henchmen, Spikor! Spikor to me was an odd choice of figure to produce. I remember Beast Man and Mer-Man but not so much Spikor. Maybe Funko is holding back more recognisable characters for series 2, if that is to happen.
Funko POP! vinyl figures are stylized versions of pop culture characters and personalities. They are generally just under 4-inches tall and have limited articulation. They are quite cute, even when they are of baddies like Spikor. So, let’s have a look shall we?
