It’s that time again! Every week I take a look at the new comic book releases and share the ones I like the best or that grab my attention. They could be shocking, sexy or just incredibly cool. Maybe you’ll see something that’s not be on your radar and you’ll find a new book the check out.
This week there are some really cool cover by people like one of my personal favs Amanda Conner. So, lets take a look shall we?
Batman 66 #5
Company: DC Comics Cover Art: Michael Allred
I’ve said this before but Michael Allred is perfect for Batman ’66. He totally captures the vibe and fun feel of the series. I’m a huge fan of the Batman television show, and even cosplayed as the Julie Newmar Catwoman a few times, so I really appreciate his work here.
Synopsis: Are the Caped Crusader and the Boy Wonder asleep on the job? No, they are under the spell of that sinister somnambulist, the Sandman. (No, not THAT one!) Is it bedtime for all of Gotham City? Will the Dynamic Duo wake up in time to put out his lights? Don't miss this issue's story illustrated by 2013 Eisner Award-winner Colleen Coover!
Harley Quinn #0
Company: DC Comics Cover Art: Amanda Conner
Love Amanda Conner. Her work is truly brilliant. Seeing her do Harley is really a treat. She knows how make her characters pop. I really get a sense of fun in her work. Love it.
Synopsis: This bombastic debut issue features art by award-winning illustrators including Darwyn Cooke, Sam Kieth, Tony S. Daniel, Paul Pope, Walter Simonson, Art Baltazar and others-but will any of them measure up to the exacting standards of the Clown Princess of Crime? Don't miss the thrilling return of Harley Quinn in her own monthly series!
Indestructible Hulk #15
Company: Marvel Comics Cover Art: Mukesh Singh
Whoa! Oh it’s smash time, alright! With a grin like that it only means one thing...someone’s in trouble. Looks like Mister Hulk is about do what he does best: Smash. Incredible. Lots of intensity in this cover.
Synopsis: "HULK AGENT OF T.I.M.E." CONCLUSION! The final stand against the CHRONARCHISTS! The HULK returns to present-day--but WHICH Hulk? And whatever became of BRUCE BANNER?
Steed & Mrs Peel TPB Vol. 02 Secret History Of Space
“Mrs. Peel, We’re Needed!” Linsner doing Emma Peel? Simply perfection. Back home in the UK Steed and Peel are our Avengers. I have quite the fondness for this duo of super spies. This cover is just beautiful.
Company: Boom Comics Cover Art: Joseph Michael Linsner
Synopsis: Caleb Monroe and Yasmin Liang bring you all-stories of the original Avengers, as the super-duo face a murderous conductor, crack the case of the Suicide Town, and get into a literal race against time.
Grimm Fairy Tales Wonderland #17 (Cover C - Ruffino)
Company: Zenescope Cover Art: Nei Ruffino
Zenescope never fails when it comes to sexy women on their covers. This one by Nei Ruffino is a stunning work of art. Alice is showing off a bit of her naughty side here and I really love it.
Synopsis: Dark Cheshire and the New Mad Hatter Return! Calie and Violet's search for answers to defeat the realm of madness leads them to the site of the original "EXPERIMENT" that opened the first portal to Wonderland. But the answers they find may prove too much to bare as a startling decision is made that will change the Wonderland forever. Meanwhile, the Dark Cheshire, and the newly crowned Mad Hatters' search for Calie and Violet lead them to the foster home of the recently escaped suicide king who is attempting to learn to lead a normal life. Unfortunately, he will also learn that that is no Escape From Wonderland.
