I'm back with another Super Hero Squad review! Since I know a lot of you had just gotten back from San Diego Comic Con, I thought I would do a review that was in the theme of SDCC. The set I am going to be looking at today is the 2010 San Diego Comic Con Exclusive SHS 3-pack.
Exclusively available at SDCC in 2010 this set came in an awesome box with images that looked exciting. The Mayor is in shock, Dr. Doom is looking evil and Iron Man looking defiant.
The back of the box give you a look at the citizens of Super Hero City.
The font of the box opens up to revel the figures that you'll be getting inside by way of clear window.
Inside two of the three figures are brand new sculpts. The first of which is The Mayor. Voiced by Stan Lee in the show, The Mayor is suited up and ready for action. He has standard articulation in his neck and arms.
My favourite is Dr. Doom in his robe and slippers. Looks like evil likes to sleep in, as do I, LOL. Dr. Doom has his morning cup of tea, newspaper and fuzzy monster slippers on. This one of the best Super Hero Squad figures and the main reason, I think, to get this set.
Not surprisingly you also get an Iron Man in this set. He has nice articulation at his neck and shoulders. The paint job looks really good, and the sculpt is right on. Does he look familiar? LOL this one has been seen in a few sets.
Just with slightly different paint applications. It is a cool figure to have, but you don't need an army of them.
My thoughts: this is a really good set for your Super Hero Squad collection. The Dr. Doom and Mayor are great new sculpts that look amazing. The Iron Man looks cool too, and probably the best one to get of this sculpt.
