This past weekend I was fortunate enough to go on Transformers: The Ride 3D at Universal Studios in Hollywood. I'm an annual pass member, and as such I was able to check out the ride before it actually opens to the public on May 25th. I'm not the biggest Transformers fan, though I do like it. I'm just not as hardcore as I know some people are when it comes to this brand.
But when the opportunity arose for me to have a look at the ride, I excitedly headed over. Luckily for me Universal Studios is about 7min away from where I live, LOL.
So, I got to Universal Studios and went straight for the ride which is located on the lower level, next to the Mummy ride. When I arrived, oddly enough, there was not a lot of people there. I showed my pass and was quickly on my way.
Here is some video I shot while going on the ride. I also have some surprises sprinkled in the video.
Now that you have seen the video, how about some pictures?
To me, the ride felt like a cross between the Indiana Jones ride (at Disneyland) and Universal Studios' The Simpsons ride. I loved the 3D effect. It really had a lot of depth. The actual ride was a lot of fun as well. You rolled through the city trying to protect the "all-spark" and keep Megatron from getting his hands on it. There are a lot of cool trills and real life effects like smoke, heat and water spray are employed to help make the 3D feel even more lively.
