NEWS: New Disney Vinyl Collectors Group On Facebook

Hello Heroes and Disney Fans,

I have something cool that you might want to check out. As you know I collect a lot of vinyl figures like POP! and Vinylmation. Well, my friend Phil started a group on Facebook that focuses on Disney vinyl figures, appropriately titled Disney Vinyl Collectors.

There you can post and discuss news about all the various Disney figures that are coming out, what you may have blind boxed or what you want to trade.

VINYLMATION: TANYA TATE Picks Up California Adventure Exclusives!

If you follow me on twitter, you probably saw my tweet from Disneyland California Adventure this past weekend. I was there previewing the new Cars Land rides. I'll post some pictures and videos from my experience throughout the week on this blog, but in the meantime I'll share a few pictures of some of the cool Vinylmation figures I picked up while there.

Tanya Tate™ Finds Vinylmation At The Disney Store Outlet!

Hello! This weekend I happened to be in the neighborhood of the Disney Store Outlet in Camarillo, so I decided to pop in and see what Vinylmation they may have. I had heard that the Disney Store Outlet does not carry Vinylmation, so I was pleasantly surprised to see there were an abundance of figures. Unfortunately, they were ones that I wasn't too interested in.

Rows of Celebrations, Occupations, Sea-Creatures and Tron packed the shelves. Only 1 or 2 styles of each series. It was slightly disappointing. I did see the 9inch/3inch Devil and Angel set. I heard that they were found on the east coast for around $20, but here it was $39.99.

I did buy a few pieces. The Devil/Angel combo, Urban 4 Ear Hat + 3inch Blue Flames ($14.95), Occupations Policeman ($4.99) and two IT Tech ($4.99ea)..and a Hulk. Yes, I have a Hulk.

Disney Vinylmation Urban Series 9 - The Chase is on!

The newest Vinylmation Urban series just hit the Disney Store shelves last Friday. The series features some really cool designs by artists like Thomas Scott, Maria Clapsis, Casey Jones, and Billy Davis.

Some of the designs include a Tattooed Business guy, Gangster Cowboy, Toaster & an Elephant Kid. In my opinion, it’s one of the best Urban sets since Urban 4.

Let’s cut to the chaser. “Funhouse Mickey”. I was not too excited about this one at first. Usually, I’m all for Mickey vinyls. But this one is really funny to look at, which I guess is the point. Once I got the concept for the long-necked figure, it made more sense. It grew on me. 

Everyone is always after the chaser, right? Well, not in this “case”. There are 2 variants in this series. A Golden Dragon and a Shaved Sheep. They are HOT! These are the one’s that Vinylmation folks are after. I’ve heard that there are two to a case. Either two Shaved Sheep's or two Gold Dragons (not mixed). But who really knows? I’ve also heard that some cases don’t have any variants at all. What I do know is that the “variants” are the ones to chase. So, head to your local Disney Store and go for the GOLD! Or naked Sheep... either one is awesome.

Tanya Tate's Vinylmation Trading Night At Disneyland 4.20.2012

So my Disney Vinylmation collection has been growing. And one aspect of collecting Vinylmation is the trading. Collectors of these figures trade. So, to fully immerse myself in the scene, I had to join in this activity.

Friday I went to my first trading night at Disneyland! It was mostly geared toward pin traders, I am not much in to that though. I popped by for a bit to see what was going on in the Vinylmation scene.

I have to admit I did not have much to trade, I usually only buy what I like. But I did have a few extra figures that I could part with. Thankfully, LOL! I saw loads of the Disney figures that I needed to add to my collection!

When I arrived at Paradise Pier I was already late to the event. It started at 7pm and I got there at around 9pm. I was a bit taken aback by how many people were there, I really did not know what to expect, but there were a lot people! It was packed.

Virtually all of the people there were extremely cool and being new to trading, they helped me out.
