NEWS: Iron Man 3 Super Hero Squad Series - All Repaints?

Usually, I'm grateful to get any new Super Hero Squad figures. In the last couple of years it seems like Hasbro has abandoned the line. Since they stopped releasing two-packs, we have been given movie-centric waves that have consisted mostly of repaints. Thor, Captain America, The Avengers and Amazing Spider-man resulted in only a handful of new sculpts However, at least there were new sculpts.

I saw two Iron Man 3 SHS sets at Target and at first I was ready to pick them up straight away. That is, until I actually took a good look at what was being offered...all repaints. One set consisted of Iron Man Mark V, War Machine and Hammer Drone while the other featured Iron Man Mark III, Iron Man Mark I and Iron Monger.

These are great if you missed them when they were initially released, but for an avid  collector, it is somewhat disappointing. Especially with all the new armor that is seen in Iron Man 3's promo.

Hopefully, we have not seen the last of new Super Hero Squad figures.

TANYA TATE™ Super Hero Squad Review: Avengers - Secret Invasion

Hello heroes,

This week, I am reviewing another Super Hero Squad box set. SHS are little figures that stylistically represent characters from the Marvel Universe. Recently, three sets were released as part of The Avengers  series. It says "Comic Series" on the box, but the graphics and logo are reminiscent of the recent movie. Maybe because some of the figures used have been repaints from comic book based series in years past. This "Secret Invasion” contains a new Nick Fury and has a Skrull Warrior and Iron Man that we have seen before, albeit these have new paint apps.
