Hello Everyone!
I spent a special day at the Disney Studios in Burbank this past Saturday. I'm a member of the Disney fan club, D23, and I was able to secure a studio tour and it was brilliant. I am a huge Disney fan, so when the opportunity presented itself to attend a guided tour of the studio...I leapt at the chance.
I got to see several of the important buildings including the Animation Building, the Frank G. Wells Building (which had the Disney Archives), Team Disney building and stages there. Want to see some pictures?
One of the more exciting parts of the tour was seeing the Disney Archives. I saw the opening day ticket to Disneyland and even got to hold one the Academy Awards that Walt Disney won.
While in the archives, Disney historian Dave Smith showed me the actual script from Steamboat WIlly, which as you all know is the first appearance of Mickey Mouse.
I also walked through the Plaza of Legends which pays tribute to some of the important people in the Disney history. Located there, are several sets of handprints of the people honoured. I made sure I saw Julie Andrews' as Mary Poppins is my favourite Disney movie of all time.
It was a great time, I hope if you have the chance to take the tour, you do so. It is truly worth it. Here are some more pictures:
Right, so have you taken the Disney Studio tour? Or if you have an questions or comments, please leave them below or you can contact me via twitter - http://twitter.com/TanyaTate. I try to get back to everyone that tweets me!
